Memories:

Memories, like the human brain, are strange things. It's amazing how something as small as an image of a leaf can stir up complicated thoughts and emotions. Our brain has a way of connecting things together and it happens with things both memorable and non-memorable. While browsing through my photos today I started thinking of my past year, everything I have done, everything I have accomplished. It's funny when you're looking at your own photography. Your first instinct is to think of the time in which the photo was taken, but then, after looking at it, the subject, little things in the photo, you can start to reminisce on the seemingly unrelated. This particular photo reminds me of recent cross country running season. All year, I constantly trained, every day, harder than I have ever up to that point. Then, at the end, I realized I could push harder. I have so much more in me. Through all the battles, accomplishments, and defeats, you learn what you are capable of. I know I have a lot in front of me, so it's easy to imagine my foot planting firmly on top of this beautiful leaf, as I continue my journey through life.

Anyway, just submitting this photo makes me want to go out and do some more photography. Hopefully I find some time in the near future .

Technical Info: I tried something a little different here. I'm using an action for the sharpening and have weakened the effect of the sharpening. It seems a little strong, but I'm going to go with it. I'm sorry ... I actually forget who's action it is. It's a well-known photographer here on deviantart, but I forget. I'll update this if I find out.
